Putin says Russian Navy could launch an “unpreventable strike”

 

Russian leader Vladimer Putin is rattling his sabre once again.   Putin was angered after the British Navy Destroyer HMS Defender passed off the coast of Crimea.  Russia believes that waters in the Black Sea are under the control of the Soviet Union after that country annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014.    Putin said bombs were dropped in the Defender’s path and the Soviet’s could have sunk the destroyer if they wanted.     Britian said they were told the shots were part of a gunnery exercise.

Most of Europe and NATO believe those waters are still covered by international agreements.  (see full story)
